Introduction:

This nine-page civil complaint was filed in King County Superior Court in May 2018 by Jeffrey Simpson against former Seattle Mayor Ed Murray and the City of Seattle.

Simpson alleged that Murray sexually abused him beginning when Simpson was a child and later became his foster parent; the complaint also recounts the 1984 Oregon child-welfare investigation and quotes records generated during that investigation.

The complaint further asserted claims arising from public statements made about Simpson and his allegations. These are allegations and claims made by the plaintiff in a civil court filing and are presented here as part of the public record.
